Family Tree

When reading a book, you engulf yourself within a story’s plot and setting. You discover an entirely new world with new impressions and feelings that could not have existed before. A family tree is nothing different than a good book, with the sole difference being that it tells the story of your very own family history. Enable yourself to both feel and see your ancestors as their stories are brought to life by our charming family trees. Create a special bond between generations and strengthen your family’s identity. Find your roots and find yourself.

Exploring and discovering your own family’s origins is one of the most exciting things you can do. Specifically, it unlocks the ability to pursue a treasured legacy that regards your family name for generations to come.

The Family Tree – from the progenitor to the present generation

Unknowingly, many people interested in the commissioning of their family tree have typically already begun their genealogical research beforehand. However, this research is frequently limited to a particular scope of generations and cannot be undergone any further without professional support. With that said, any information or collected documents about the younger generations prove very helpful in our research.

Our research always begins with the selection of the research objective: Family Tree or Pedigree Chart. Only from this are we able to successfully start the investigation of your family’s past.

In the case that you choose to have a family tree created, our researchers will mainly focus on the origin of your family name. The family tree shows ascending order from the progenitor (oldest known ancestor) to all the subsequent descendants with a common family name.

A Story-Telling Family Tree!

Should you decide to pursue a family tree, our focus is mainly put on the root of the family name. Firstly, the genealogy starts from an initial person and is then researched outward in a direct sequence of father and son. This sequence forms the trunk of the tree, called the mainline. The family name, therefore, is the central theme of the Family Tree.

The progenitor (the oldest known ancestor) forms the tree’s base and are quite literally your “roots”. From this point in the tree, the progeny diverges outward and each sibling branches out horizontally. The research of each forefather’s wives and children give the tree a truly unique story. In addition, the collateral line formed through these stories composes the tree’s branches. The deeper and more profound the research goes, the more life given to the family’s tree. Seemingly, this situates the youngest members with the most recent stories and history on the treetop. In conclusion, the family tree shows all its descendants, from its roots to its top, bearing the same family name.

The artistic realization is the final stage of the research process. Our professional artists draw the Family tree on priceless parchment by hand. The Family Tree is the topping of the research since it expresses its history in a plethora of exceptional character rarely found anywhere else. Therefore, it is not surprising that customers often order multiple copies for other family members to enjoy as well.

The family tree as a digital print

Inclusively, we provide our clients with the opportunity to receive a digitally created art print of their family tree. Since the family tree is printed on paper instead of traditional cowhide, any additional changes will not be possible. Unlike with paper, cowhide enables changes and edits to be done to the impending family tree. If necessary, entries can be removed with a specialized scalpel and updated upon request. Changes on the digital print, however, are only possible through a complete reprint.

Here are a few examples of family tree digital prints:

The Detailed Headlines

For each researched ancestor, we provide the following details:

  • First name
  • Place and date of birth and baptism/christening
  • Place and date of marriage
  • Profession
  • Date of death and burial location
  • Interesting facts and stories when found

Documents are given a reference to each item of information. So, future generations will always understand the sources. Under normal circumstances, such research will take one to three years.

Family Tree or Family Pedigree

What is the difference?

One question we often receive is what the difference between the family tree and the family pedigree is. Therefore, we have highlighted the most important factors between these two works below:

If the undergone research relates to all ancestors on the maternal and paternal side of genealogy, then a family pedigree is used. Your parents are situated above you, with your father on the left and your mother on your right. Since every person has two individual parents, the pedigree chart doubles in size with each additional generation. When presenting and essentially researching a family’s pedigree, one limits themselves to the primary or so-called bloodlines. Given that each generation grows exponentially in size, this research proves to be much more extensive and costly than researching the family tree.

On the other hand, in the research of a family tree, we limit ourselves to direct lineage of the family name, i.e., family members with the same family name. The tree grows upwards and outwards from the oldest known ancestor (the progenitor). Above the progenitor, the children and their descendants are depicted chronologically, with the oldest sibling on the far left and the youngest on the far right. This results in each branch of the family tree (the branch lines) to form its unique appearance.

Summary of the family history within the family chronicle

The exclusively written family chronicle ties each ancestor’s individual stories together to uncover the full length of a family’s past. We present the raw data and facts of one’s family in relation to the global and regional history. This makes history truly tangible and allows one to comprehend one’s family’s background fully. Through this historical context, is it then possible to bring the relevance and personality of your family to light.

However, such a family chronicle is not written overnight and must be extensively researched. Such a process takes up to approximately six months.

Part of a Larger Story

The Family Chronicle contains the findings of genealogy. The details and documentation are augmented with real-life context administered by expert teams of writers, editors, and historians. The chronicle features a true vision of the contemporary life of your ancestors. The historical explanations and regional accuracy make the chronicle more than just a list of facts. It gives a tangible and comprehensive story of your origins, bringing your own family history to life.
